Santa Cruz Mountains Vintners' Festival - May 31st & June 1st 11am-5pm, 2008

We love to throw good parties and for Vintners' Festival we are going to do it again. The winery will be open all weekend for Vintners' Festival participants and winery customers. If you missed our Spring Release Party, this will be your last chance till Fall to visit the winery, taste a selection of our released wines as well as barrel samples, tour the vineyard and have a great time. High Sierra Wine & Wilderness Adventure - July 16th-20th, 2008

We are fortunate to know some top mountain guides who love wine. The Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides' will be leading twelve fortunate wine lovers on this hiking adventure into the incredible Ansel Adams Wilderness on the Southern border of Yosemite National Park. Mules will carry all of our personal gear, food, and wine into our 9,000' lakefront base camp. Big Basin proprietor and winemaker Bradley Brown is tapping into his library collection in order to present the full history of Big Basin Vineyards wines. Over the three nights we will spend in this incredible wilderness setting, we will enjoy Big Basin's wines along with gourmet meals served around a blazing campfire. The wines will include: a vertical of Rattlesnake Rock Syrah from the premiere 2002 vintage through the yet to be released 2006 vintage, the 2004, 2005 & 2006 Mandala Syrah, the 2005 & 2006 Fairview Ranch Syrah, the 2006 Branciforte Ridge Pinot Noir, and the 2007 Sri Rosé - and another suprise or two. Our guides are known for their "Backcountry Gourmet" meals that have been acclaimed in Sunset Magazine. During each day, you will have the opportunity to hike to nearby lakes, climb peaks, fish, or just bask in the mountain sun and take it all in. This will be an adventure you won't forget.
