The Ferrari Family (formerly Woodruff) Vineyard is a truly special site. Its location in the rolling hills of the Corralitos area at the southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains is consistently cooled by fog moving in from Monterey Bay that often persists through the late-morning hours. The sandy loam soils have terrific drainage and the vines are 100% dry farmed; with no irrigation these vines produce only about one ton per acre. At more than four decades of age, these Pinot vines may well be the oldest in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
