Cozy up by a fire pit or inside on a lazy couch, and enjoy how Susann can bring clay to life with her quiet and lovely ceramic sculptures. Meet a few friends for a glass of wine and then head uptown for more art.

Susann Winter Artist Statement
Hello! I’m Susann Winter, a ceramic artist based in Santa Cruz, California, and the creator behind Liljen Ceramic Design. I create floral and coral-inspired wall-hanging sculptures alongside contemporary ceramic pieces. Some are functional, some are just here to look gorgeous, but all are handcrafted with patience and love. Each one is unique, ensuring every collector owns something truly one of a kind.

Living in the vibrant coastal community of Santa Cruz, I’m deeply inspired by the natural beauty around me. My European roots shape my clean, contemporary aesthetic, blending simplicity with the organic forms found in nature.

My work celebrates the intricate beauty of nature, drawing from the ocean and the vibrant world of flowers. Whether it’s tide-pooling, diving, or simply observing floral shapes, I translate these inspirations into ceramic art. While rooted in nature, my goal isn’t to replicate it exactly, but to create pieces that invite interpretation—like abstract art. Through my work, I hope to spark wonder and encourage you to cherish and protect the biodiversity around us.
