Odeon
2015
“The 2015 Odeon, Big Basin’s Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah blend, is another standout and also one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Today, the tannins are a bit imposing, but the there is more than enough depth to the fruit to allow the wine to develop positively in bottle. Dark and potent in the glass, with serious intensity, the 2015 has a lot to offer, once the tannins settle down.”

“The 2015 Odeon checks in as 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Syrah, and 1% Viognier that’s from both Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. This forward, fleshy, sexy blend offers lots of darker fruits, leafy herbs, tobacco, and underbrush aromatics and is elegant and lively on the palate, with terrific balance. While it’s already beautiful, it’s going to keep for 10-12 years with no issues.”

2014
“This blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon (from Santa Cruz County) and 47% Syrah and 3% Viognier (from Monterey County) is still tightly wound on the nose, with crystalline purple-fruit and lilac aromas. The palate is elegant, energetic and clean, with firm tannins framing the purple-fruit flavors, with a touch of oak and chocolate on the finish. ”
